Almost two years after Justin Burton was executed in McComb, police have finally made an arrest in his death.

On Tuesday, police posted on Facebook that Nijoul White has been charged with capital murder related to the shooting on Jan. 9, 2020.

Burton died at the Pavilion on North Railroad Boulevard, in a chair underneath the Pearl River Bridge, near the train station. He had been shot in the head.

Then-McComb Police Chief Damian Gatlin said an Amtrak employee had noticed Burton there and had called it in.

Burton had only recently moved to McComb from New Orleans when he was killed.
