Alligator hunters across Mississippi are gearing up as the 2024 public and private alligator hunting seasons officially begin today at noon.

The season for hunting in public waters will run until noon on September 9, while the private lands season will extend until 6:00 a.m. on September 23. Hunters are reminded to prioritize safety while on the hunt, both on land and water.
