A Perry County deputy who attempted to stop a car for a traffic violation ended up with a felony arrest on his hands.

According to the Perry County Sheriff’s Department, Zadarious Sutton, 23, was driving a vehicle on Highway 98 when the deputy initiated the stop. Sutton did not stop, police said, and the deputy followed him on to Wingate Road.

Sutton finally came to a stop on Wingate Cover Road, and upon investigation, two guns were seized. At that point it was determined that Sutton was a convicted felon, and should not be in possession of a firearm.

He was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
