Yazoo City leaders have decided to shut down Junior’s Bar and Lounge after the June 5th fatal shooting of two patrons.
The Yazoo Herald reports that Police Chief Kenneth Hampton and the fire marshal are trying to pursue public endangerment charges if the investigation shows that establishment had the building’s doors locked during the shooting.
The venue has already been under scrutiny because the city ordinance states the business is to close at 1:00 a.m., with the premises clear at 1:30 a.m. When the shooting took place at 4:15 a.m., the pool hall was allegedly still open.
