The body found in the roadway was identified as 33-year-old Joy Marie Foster, of Pelahatchie.
The cause of death is still pending.

A death investigation is underway after a woman’s body was found in the middle of the road.
Hinds County deputies responded to Terry Road near Lebanon Pine Grove Rd. around 4:00 Saturday morning regarding a white female in the roadway.
She was wearing a burgundy Hinds Community College Rankin Campus T-shirt, black leggings and a burgundy Puckett Wolves jacket.
There were visible signs of injuries but the cause of death is unknown at this time.
