On October 4, Tupelo Police Officers responded to the Feemster Lake Road area in reference to shots fired.
When officers arrived on the scene, they were told by witnesses that a victim was en route to the hospital.
Additional officers responded to the North Mississippi Medical Center Emergency Room where found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.
Officers and detectives processed the crime scene and gathered information from witnesses.
On October 8, they arrested 42-year-old Cindy L. Smith from Tupelo, and charged her with Aggravated Assault.
On October 9, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Smith’s bond at $150,000. These charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
