Weekend Weather: Dangerous Heat Conditions

Mary Apel

Extremely dangerous heat is expected to persist through this weekend as high temperatures range from the upper 90s into the lower 100s. Heat indices will be as high as 110-120 degrees during the daytime. For central, western and southeast portions of the area, these extremely dangerous conditions will likely persist for several consecutive days, with limited relief at night. Heat related illnesses are likely with prolonged outdoor exposure. Frequent cooling and hydration breaks are recommended when working outdoors.

Friday will be partly sunny and very hot with highs from the mid 90s northeast to lower 100s west. Heat indices will range from 110 to 120 degrees. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon in the east.
