Tupelo traffic stop leads to felony possession of marijuana arrest

A traffic stop on Wednesday led to a felony drug charge in Tupelo.

A release from the Tupelo Police Department says fficers conducted a misdemeanor traffic stop in the area of North Gloster Street and Lakeshire Drive on Wednesday. Authorities say they developed probable cause during the traffic stop to charge driver Jeffery J. Veasley, 34, of Tupelo, with Felony of Possession of Schedule I Narcotic (Marijuana).

Approximately 3.5 ounces of suspected Marijuana was seized. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Veasley’s bond at $5,000. This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
