Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Wilkinson County.

According to MHP Spokesman Criss Turnipseed, the officer involved was a trooper. Turnipseed said there’s no further information he can release immediately, but that more will be forthcoming as it is available.

Sources say the shooting happened after a pursuit that ended near 3rd Street South and Depot Street in Woodville.

There were four suspects, law enforcement sources say, and three were arrested while the other escaped. One suspect was reportedly shot twice.
