Next week, the Town of Terry is holding what organizers call “a really big deal” at City Hall.

Officials were trying to figure out how to fill jobs in the police department and public works department, and they launched the idea of a job fair.

But not only is the job fair set up to help people find jobs and fill city vacancies, it’s also to help Terry residents learn and connect. Free tablets, cell phones, and internet service for a year are available to citizens of Terry who make less than $32,000 a year or are on a fixed income.

Terry has roughly 1,330 residents and is located in Hinds County right off of Highway 55.

When you attend, bring a valid driver’s license, your police certification if you’re applying to the police department and are a sworn officer, and a resume. You’ll also be subject to a background check.

If you’re applying for tablets, cell phones, and internet, bring your tax returns as proof of income.
