Three Arrested For Attempted Carjacking at Byram Apartments

The Byram Police Department arrested three men who attempted to carjack a woman at the Reserve of Byram Apartment Complex.

27-year-old Dominique T. Robinson was charged with 1 count of Armed Robbery, 1 count of Armed carjacking, 1 count of aggravated assault, 1 count of convicted felon w/firearm.

25-year-old Jodarius D. Robinson was charged with 1 count of armed robbery, 1 count of aggravated assault, and 1 count of armed carjacking.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been approached by two male suspects armed with a handgun. They attempted to carjack the woman. The suspects struggled with woman and the handgun was discharged, barely missing her. The suspects then forcefully stole the woman’s purse as they dragged her across the pavement. They got away in a white car.

Byram police officers determined a vehicle description and notified all surrounding agencies.

Later that day, Ridgeland police located the suspect’s car and confronted the driver.

After a thorough investigation, Byram detectives were able to identify three suspects and arrest them within a few days. They are all being held at the Raymond Detention Center.

Chief of Police, David Errington said in the press release:

“This criminal behavior will not be tolerated in Byram, Mississippi and we hope that these suspects will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law through the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office. The Byram Police Department extends our appreciation of the Ridgeland Police Department, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, the MS Department of Corrections, the MS Bureau of Narcotics, and the United States Marshalls with the identification and apprehension of these violent criminals.”
