Around 5:33 p.m., Capitol Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Ellis Avenue.

The driver failed to stop for officers, leading them on a brief pursuit. The driver then turned into a subdivision and officers lost sight of the vehicle and the pursuit was stopped.

Approximately 15 minutes later, Capitol Police officers made contact with the same vehicle again and another pursuit began.
The pursuit continued until the driver struck a vehicle in the intersection of County Line Rd and Highway 49 North causing a collision between officers and that vehicle.
No injuries were reported. The subject continued to McLean Rd where he wrecked his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
When officers arrived at the wrecked vehicle, they found a female passenger along with a two-year-old child inside the car. The female has been detained, and no injuries have been reported.

The subject has been identified as 30-year-old, Jarvis Crump. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts, please contact Capitol Police at 601-359-3125
