The Northwest Rankin High School, Northwest Rankin Middle and Northwest Rankin Elementary School were placed on lockdown this morning as a precautionary measure.

Law enforcement officers investigated an incident of a photo posted on social media.

A thorough investigation of the photo revealed that it was taken after school was released yesterday.

Authorities confirmed that there was no active threat to any of the schools listed above.

Shortly afterward all lockdowns were lifted.

LEO’s confirmed that the photograph showed a student holding an Airsoft gun in the photo.

Due to these findings, there have been multiple arrests made after identifications were confirmed of these individuals.
