Parchman Chief Investigator Rocky Jaco was recognized for his efforts to save the life of a fellow MDOC employee in July.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections posted a thank you to one of their own after he did all he could to save the life of a fellow MDOC employee.
According to MDOC’s Facebook page, Parchman Chief Investigator Rocky Jaco was there when Captain Margaret Addison suffered a medical emergency at the end of July. Jaco is credited with performing CPR on Capt. Addison in an attempt to revive her and save her life.
Capt. Addison did not survive the episode, but MDOC officials point to Jaco’s lifesaving measurs as giving her just a little longer here on earth.
“Jaco’s efforts that day to revive Addison, allowing her to be stabilized and transported to a local hospital, earned him Employee of the Month,” the post states. “Meanwhile, memories of Addison will always linger at Parchman, where she began her career in 2012.”
