MHP Corporal Burnett and members of the Navy Seabees with the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport were in the right place at the right time on March 20.

MHP said that Corporal Kevin Burnett was on patrol on Interstate 10 in Hancock County when he noticed heavy traffic and smoke.

He quickly investigated and found that there was a single-vehicle crash that had just happened and had not yet been reported.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he and military personnel sprang into action to help the unresponsive driver.

Members of the Navy Seabees also rushed to help.

Corporal Burnett assessed the situation, and noticing the severity, they all worked together to implement life-saving measures to the driver to revive him.

Thankfully, the driver regained consciousness and was breathing unassisted by the time emergency services arrived.
