The Hernando Postmaster is currently recovering after being stabbed at the Hernando Post Office.
Hannah Wallsmith from WLBT wrote that Hernando police responded to the call just before 9 a.m this morning.
Allegedly, there was an altercation between the Postmaster and an employee which led to the employee stabbing the Postmaster multiple times.
The Postmaster was taken to Baptist in Desoto with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tamekia Scott, the employee accused of stabbing the Postmaster, tried to flee the scene, but employees with USPS blocked her vehicle until officers arrived.
Scott was arrested and taken to Desoto County Jail where she has been charged with Aggravated Assault.
