According to Gulfport police, a second woman has been arrested in connection to a baby who died with drugs in their system.

On October 20, WLOX reported that police arrested the child’s mother, 23-year-old Savannah Galle Reynolds.

Reynolds was charged with felonious child abuse.

Police arrested the woman who sold drugs to Reynolds. She was identified as 30-year-old Dawn Marie White.

The alleged drug dealer was arrested Tuesday and charged with Conspiracy.

According to WLOX, Child Protective Services called the Gulfport Police Department on October 18 about a complaint of child abuse.

Police began investigating and learned that the mother, Reynolds, was 37 weeks pregnant when she gave birth to a child who ended up dying a week later.

The child had THC, amphetamines, and fentanyl in their system when they were born.

Police told WLOX that Reynolds took several pills with fentanyl and methamphetamine during and up to a week before giving birth.

Upon further investigation, detectives learned that White has sold fentanyl to Reynolds several times.

“White and Reynolds also conspired to purchase fentanyl for Reynolds while life-saving measures were actively being done to Reynolds’ infant before he was pronounced deceased,” a GPD press release reads.

White is being held in the Harrison County Adult Detention Center with a bond of $50,000.

Reynolds is still in jail, with a $250,000 bond.
