On Thursday night, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office was told that a suspect involved in a double murder in Winston County was in the area. The murder had occurred earlier that night.

Chief Deputy Brad Ellis of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office spotted the suspect’s vehicle on Highway 80 in Forest.

Deputy Ellis conducted a traffic stop near Raytheon and successfully apprehended the suspect, Carlos Daniels.

The arrest was made with the support of Chief Pete Lingle of the Lake Police Department, the Scott County SWAT team, and additional Scott County deputies. Daniels was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the double murder. Further details will be provided as the case develops.
