On Sunday, August 11, at around 3:05 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on Highway 25 in Leake County.

A 2016 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by 56-year-old Edward Pinter of Brandon, Mississippi, veered off the road and collided with a tree.

Both Pinter and his passenger, 60-year-old Melvin Franklin, also of Brandon, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
