They noticed a vehicle was seen turning around at the checkpoint. Deputies were able to stop the vehicle near County Road 7450.
Upon approaching the vehicle they could smell what they believed to be marijuana and noticed an unrestrained infant in the backseat.
The driver of the vehicle was 25-year-old Kadarius Beasley of Corinth. He was taken into custody and charged with driving on a suspended license, no seatbelt, improper turn, and child restraint.
A firearm was also found inside the vehicle.
Kadarius Beasley is a convicted felon for Felony Fleeing with Injury out of Alcorn County in 2021. As a result, he was also charged for Possession of a Weapon by Felon.
His bond on the felony charge was set at $1,000.00. The case will be presented to a Prentiss County Grand Jury.
