The Pearl Public School District released a statement to clear up rumors that were circulating about a gun being found on a school campus this morning.
They said there was also misinformation that metal detectors were being installed in Pearl schools.
Here is their statement,
“Dear PPSD Parents/Community,
We want to address recent online claims that are not accurate. Contrary to rumors, no student was arrested, and no gun was found at PJHS this morning. Additionally, there is misinformation about metal detectors being installed in our schools, which is not true. We understand the concerns surrounding safety, and we encourage everyone to seek accurate information from official school sources before spreading unverified information. Pearl Public School District remains committed to providing a safe and supportive educational environment for all students. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.”
