The ribbon will be cut on the Pearl-Richland Intermodal Connector project Monday after 15 years of construction.
This will help traffic by opening a pair of bridges over the intersection at South Pearson Road, where sometimes trains may sit for long periods of time. One bridge will serve southbound traffic and the other, northbound traffic.
Each bridge is around 180 feet long, and have two lanes for traffic. They allow for 25 feet of vertical clearance over the train tracks.
The ribbon cutting will be held at 2 p.m. Monday and traffic will open shortly afterward.
