Pearl Police Arrest Man After Shoplifting, Shooting Incident At Dollar General

On January 18, Pearl Police detectives arrested an individual responsible for the shooting incident at the Dollar General store in Pearl.

27-year-old Treasure Destiny Gayden from Pearl was charged with (4) counts of Aggravated Assault, (1) count of Shoplifting.

On January 18, around 4:00 pm, Pearl Police Department received multiple 911 calls about a shooting at Dollar General on South Pearson Road in Pearl.

Officers arrived on scene and received information that a subject shoplifted from the store, and began shooting a firearm inside the store while he was running outside.

Thankfully, nobody was injured.

Pearl PD Detectives arrived on the scene and began their investigation.

Throughout the investigation, detectives identified the suspect, Treasure Gayden, and took him into custody around 6:30 p.m.

Detectives were able to recover the firearm used, and also the merchandise that the male stole.

He was arrested, charged, and transported to the Rankin County Jail.

This case will be presented to the Rankin County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
