Police are investigating after a man allegedly shot his wife and sister at a home in Yazoo City.

Yazoo police said the incident happened Tuesday afternoon at the home of Calvin Williams where Williams is alleged to have shot his estranged wife, Hattie Williams, in the abdomen. He then allegedly shot his sister, Glinda Scott, in her left leg.

Investigators say after being shot, Hattie Williams ran out the back door to a home on Cleveland Street, where a neighbor called paramedics. She was taken to UMMC where she remains recovering.

Scott ran out the front door and went to a home nearby for help. First responders arrived and Scott was treated and released.

Calvin Williams sustained injuries during the incident and is currently in the hospital.
