UPDATE: Suspect, 43-year-old male, Alejandro Contreras has been arrested on charges of Murder and is now in Jackson Police custody. He will also be charged with Child Endangerment.

On Thursday, April 4, the Jackson Police Department began investigating a Homicide that occurred on State St. near Presto Ln.

Detectives learned that two victims were shot at this location inside a vehicle.

Unfortunately, one of victims were pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The victim is identified as 23-year-old Jesua Chaves, his next of kin has been notified.

Detectives have also identified a person of interest in this case.
