The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Amory Police Department that happened on December 6th on Tschudi Street in Amory, Mississippi.
MBI received notification at approximately 7:00 p.m. of this critical incident.
Officers were responding to a call for service regarding a subject firing a weapon.
When officers arrived, the individual began to fire the weapon toward the officers. Officers discharged their weapons, striking the subject and killing him.
The officers involved did not receive any serious physical injury.
MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence.
Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
