Brookhaven police are reportedly investigating a homicide that took place in the Homeseekers’ Paradise over the weekend.

Law enforcement officials say a juvenile is in custody Monday after a shooting Saturday left one dead and one injured.

The incident reportedly took place around 7:30 p.m. at Lipsey Park.

Deputy Coroner Ricky Alford said Cavavious Jones, 16, was pronounced dead on scene and his body will be sent to the crime lab for an autopsy.

16-year-old Cameron Humphreys was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He is being charged as an adult.
