LUCEDALE – A George County man has been arrested on multiple sexual battery charges, according to the George County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators arrested 38-year-old John Paul Moore, of Lucedale, on June 29.
The sheriff’s office said Moore was charged with three counts of sexual battery. The charges stem from an investigation that began after the sheriff’s office received a report involving serious criminal allegations.
Investigators said Moore was issued a $250,000 commercial bond for each count, for a total bond of $750,000.
“The safety and protection of our citizens, especially victims of sensitive crimes, remains a top priority for this office,” Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said. “We commend the courage of the victim in coming forward and reporting these allegations. Our investigators worked diligently to ensure this case was thoroughly investigated, and we will continue to pursue justice for those affected.”
The case remains under investigation. The sheriff’s office said no further information will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the case.
Moore is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
