Moss Point police and Jackson County deputies are investigating after executing a search warrant and multiple arrest warrants at an address in Moss Point.

According to police the warrants were issued in connection with two connected incidents involving a school bus and a man with a gun.

On last Friday, police say Jacinta Kendral McPherson, 40, was allegedly driving a car that she used to obstruct a school bus with children on it, blocking its path. Edwin Eugene White, 23, then allegedly “attempted to confront the bus.”

Police say they were called to Kreole Elementary School by a concerned parent who reported seeing a man with a handgun sitting in a vehicle. Investigators say they were able to confirm that man was White.

White has been charged with Felony Simple Assault Against a School Official for his interaction with the bus driver. He was booked into the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with no bond.

McPherson was charged with Interference with the Operation of a School Bus. She was released on bond.

Authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
