A thief made away with around $2,000 after breaking in to Winona City Hall this week, a local newspaper reported.

According to the Winona Times, the rolled coins were left behind, but all the bills were taken from a safe which is believed to have been locked inside City Hall.

The incident happened overnight between Monday and Tuesday, the Times reports. The thief allegedly forced entry through a back door after failing to gain access through two different windows.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation, the Times reports, and all of the employees of City Hall have been questioned.

So far no suspects have been identified as of the Times’ press time on Wednesday.
