Harry Potter Day at the Mississippi Children's Museum.

Join the Mississippi Children’s Museum as they celebrate Harry Potter Day on Saturday, July 29th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

This year for Harry Potter’s birthday, they are preparing you to go back to school – Hogwarts style! Start your journey by conducting a science experiment that will sort you into your Hogwarts house, then step inside the atrium to take a Back-to-School photo with the magical invisibility cloak.

Every new Hogwarts student needs a wand before attending classes, so make sure to stop by Ollivander’s Wand shop where you will use the magic of circuitry to create a wand that really casts Lumos! They have several classes for you to try, including Herbology, where you will learn how to care for a plant that you can take home; Astronomy, where you will use our 3D pens to learn about the stars and planets; and Potions, where you will create your own slimy concoction. Each class gives you the opportunity to represent your House, with the House Cup winner announced on social media after the event ends.

Watch out – Voldemort has hidden his Horcruxes around the museum. If you are brave enough to find them all, you can choose a special Harry Potter themed sticker to display for your service as an Auror. Before you leave the museum, make sure to stop by Flourish and Blotts, where each child will take home a book (while supplies last), courtesy of our MCM Partners.

Costumes are encouraged. All adults must be accompanied by a child, and vice versa.
