Meridian Police are looking for a man in connection with what is being reported as an “execution-style” homicide.
The Scotty Ray Report out of Meridian is reporting that the incident took place around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Meridian police say they’re looking for Lawyon Vaughn, 24, in connection with the shooting death of Jakavion Adams, 23. They say Adams was shot multiple times at 4620 Poplar Springs Drive.
Law enforcement told WTOK-TV that they believe the shooting may have been retaliatory. Witnesses said they heard a lot of gunshots that “sounded to them like a machine gun,” according to WTOK.
Police are actively seeking Vaughn on a murder warrant. He’s considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him, but call 911 instead.
