On May 2, the Oxford Police Department (OPD) received a walk-in report regarding a forged business check.
Following a review of video evidence and a thorough investigation, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the OPD identified 65-year-old Elton Keith McCommon of Memphis, TN, as the suspect.
A warrant for his arrest on the charge of False Pretense was obtained.
McCommon was apprehended by the Arkansas State Police in Crittenden County, Arkansas.
He appeared before a Municipal Court judge and was issued a $100,000 bond. The OPD thanked the Arkansas State Police for their assistance in locating and arresting McCommon.
