UPDATE: 58-Year-Old Shot In Officer-Involved shooting In George County

FRIDAY, 2:00 PM UPDATE:

At approximately 11:50 p.m., George County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance that ended with an officer-involved shooting.

A 58-year-old male was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where he is currently listed in stable condition under armed guard.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the 19th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, and all inquiries regarding this investigation should be directed to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

No officers were injured during the incident.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving George County Sheriff’s Department that occurred Friday morning.

MBI said in a release that the incident occurred around 1:30 A.M. near Hill Top Drive in Lucedale.

There have been three officer-involved shootings that have been reported in the last three days around the state.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing their investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
