The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy that occurred on February 1st, 2024.

Deputies with Greene County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a pursuit with the suspect when
one deputy was struck by the subject’s vehicle and received non-life-threatening injuries. After
continued pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle veered off the road and came to a stop.

The suspect then got out of the vehicle with a weapon and the deputies shot at him. The suspect ended up surrendering to the officers on the scene. MBI says this information is preliminary and subject to change.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the
investigation, agents will share their findings with the local District Attorney and/or Attorney
General’s Office.
