According to Jackson Police Chief Wade, three teenagers were arrested in the murder of a security guard at a Jackson gas station.

The suspects were identified as 17-year-old Trent Wooten, 16-year-old Kadaris Cohen, and 17-year-old Zaylon Norton.

Chief Wade said the victim, 60-year-old Roy Love, was a security guard at the gas station on Cooper Road.

The teenagers allegedly approached him, attacked him, and shot and killed him.

Their motive was robbery. They were allegedly trying to steal the security guard’s gun.

One of the suspects was riding a bicycle and the other two were on foot.

In a press conference held Monday, Chief Wade said that the parents need to also be held accountable for their children’s actions.

He said,

“It’s disgusting that this happened. I saw the video. It’s very hurtful to see that.”

Chief Wade also talked about the gang issue in the city of Jackson. He said they need to address the real issue.

Chief Wade said they are seeking help from U.S. Attorney’s office.
