A man has been arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly broke into a home in Madison.
According to Madison Police Department, around 4:03 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the area of Calumet Drive concerning a man who was seen on the back porch of a home. The homeowner had also observed the man around a vehicle at the residence.
Once patrol units arrived on the scene and established a perimeter, a second call was received in Trace Vineyard Subdivision regarding a man looking into the front door of a home. Responding officers located Edward Earl Brown, 34, of Jackson, inside the carport area.
Brown was taken into custody without incident and police determined he didn’t have any accomplices in the area.
According to a release from Madison PD, Edward Brown is being charged with two counts of Attempted Burglary, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Investigators will be following up with Rankin/Madison District Attorney’s Office concerning prior arrests for House Burglary.
Edward Earl Brown is currently at the Madison County Detention Center awaiting his Initial Appearance in the City of Madison Municipal Court.
