A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Jackson Monday night.
Jackson Police Department spokesman Detective Tommie Brown said around 6:50 pm Monday, a 28-year-old black male was walking on I-55 South Frontage Road near Elton Road when he was struck by a 2019 black Hyundai Elantra. The driver of the 2019 Hyundai remained on the scene of the accident.
Precinct One officers, JPD Accident Investigations and the Hinds County Coroner were called to the scene. Tragically, the victim died of his injuries. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
