A man was killed while riding his bicycle on I-20 in Rankin County.

According to MHP, 64-year-old David Crumpton from New Albany, was driving west on Interstate 20 when the accident happened.

The crash happened at 3:29 p.m. on I-55 near Interstate 20 west in Rankin County.

A 2022 GMC Sierra was pulling a trailer and being driven by 33-year-old Eric Jones, from Starkville. He was driving south on I-55 when his trailer became detached from the truck and hit the bicyclist.

David Crumpton had severe injuries from the crash and was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he died.

MHP is investigating this crash.
