The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting involving Senatobia Police Department and Hernando Police Department that occurred on Sunday.
Authorities say the shooting took place around 4:30 P.M. near Gilmore Street in Senatobia. The subject of this critical incident was fatally wounded.
The condition of any involved officers is unknown.
Some witnesses attending a funeral across the street told WMC-5 out of Memphis that during the service, they heard a wreck and when they went to investigate, police on the scene alerted them to go inside.
WMC reports that others saw a man run behind the funeral home, where the shooting started.
MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing their investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
