Man Arrested For Stealing School Bus In Jones County, Said He Worked For FBI

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Kenner, Louisiana man on Saturday after he admitted to unlawfully taking a Jones County School District school bus.

36-year-old Corey Comeaux was reportedly staying at a home on McFarland Road and went for a walk in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 21st.

The resident, whom Comeaux was staying with for a few days, told Jones County Deputy Bill Hogue that when he woke up on Saturday morning he discovered a school bus parked in his driveway.

Deputy Hogue made contact with Comeaux inside the house and he admitted taking the school bus from a house in the 400 block of Red Hill Florence Road.

Comeaux told police that he took the school bus because he felt his life was in danger and that he worked for the FBI.

He also advised he was being chased and shot at by some unidentified people.

Comeaux was arrested on a charge of Grand Larceny and booked into the Jones County Adult Detention Facility.

Comeaux’s bond was set at $10,000 by Jones County Justice Court Judge Sonny Saul following his initial appearance.

Jones County School District personnel recovered the school bus at the residence on McFarland Road following the arrest of Corey Comeaux.
