On November 16, Tupelo police officers responded to a burglary call on Maynard Drive.
When officers arrived, they made contact with the property owner and were told that several items had been stolen from the home.
On November 19, 24-year-old Nijel M. Washington (from Tupelo) was taken into custody by the Tupelo Police Department and charged with Burglary of a Dwelling and Possession of Burglary Tools.
On November 21, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered Washington to be held without bond. These charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury and additional charges are pending at this time.
