According to WLBT Capitol police were involved in a chase that resulted in one man getting arrested Monday.

Bailey Martin with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said officers were making a traffic stop on a black GMC Sierra on Woodrow Wilson when the driver fled from officers.

He was identified as Eddie Hayes Jr. Officers chased Hayes until they were able to take him into custody near Livingston Road.

Hayes is being charged with felony fleeing, possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and several traffic violations.

According to WLBT, Martin with MBI said that two passengers in the vehicle also ran from the scene once the chase ended.
