Man Arrested After Allegedly Burglarizing Papitos Mexican Grill In Ridgeland

On Thursday, August 3, at approximately 09:22 AM, the Ridgeland Police Department responded to Papitos Mexican Grill in reference to a burglary.
Police discovered that sometime during the evening, someone had broken into the business by breaking an exterior window and disabling the surveillance system.
The cash register was found in the parking lot. It had been pried open with all money taken.
Investigators were able to analyze the surveillance footage that was successfully recorded and develop a suspect.
Photographs of that subject were distributed to Ridgeland patrol officers, who informed investigators that the subject in question was recently seen walking throughout the city.
At approximately 2:00 PM, patrol officers and investigators were able to locate 19-year-old Daveon Marquise Lindsey, walking near South Wheatley Street in Ridgeland.
Lindsey was wearing the same clothes he wore during the burglary and had evidence from the crime with him.
He was detained and promptly taken into custody without incident.
Lindsey was charged with Burglary and is being held at the Madison County Detention Center pending his initial appearance.
