Lorman Man Charged With Murder After Missing Crystal Spring Man’s Remains Found At Deer Camp

A body found on Sunday in Jefferson County has been identified as 50-year-old Michael Templeton, according to the Vicksburg Post.

He went missing from Copiah County and a Silver Alert was issued.

Deer hunters found his remains on Rodney Road in Lorman, on Saturday at 6:52 p.m.

On Thursday, authorities arrested a man identified 18-year-old Carivontae Nix for the crime after they found Templeton’s Buick Lacrosse parked at the home of Nix.

The Vicksburg Post reported that Nix was brought into the sheriff’s office where he admitted to the crime. He also confirmed the remains were those of Templeton.

Nix was charged with murder and is being held at the county jail.
