RANKIN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI – Langford Volunteer Fire Department has been named a 2024 grant recipient by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation®, receiving $29,855 to ensure the Langford Fire Protection District is safer than ever. The grant will be used to purchase three air packs and five air cylinders for the department and will ensure our community is better prepared for emergencies.

“Every day we work to make our department stronger so that we can protect our community to our utmost ability,” said Chief Shane Adams. “We’re grateful for these air packs and cylinders because having updated and working equipment is integral in every aspect of what we do, whether it’s fighting fires and saving lives, or recruitment and training.”

“We are committed to helping organizations such as Langford Volunteer Fire Department continue their lifesaving work. We are honored to be able to award this grant and do our part to ensure the Langford Fire Protection District is safer for everyone, including first responders,” said Robin Peters, Executive Director, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

The purchase of three air packs and five air cylinders will be used in firefighting and lifesaving efforts, allowing firefighters to breathe fresh air as they fight fires and deal with things like gas leaks and hazardous materials.
