The City of Gulfport, Mississippi, is stepping up to help their sister city in Florida after historic storm damage from Hurricane Helene.
Gulfport, Florida, has been severely impacted by record storm surges and flooding.
“As a community familiar with hurricane devastation, we know how crucial it is to unite in times of need,” said a Facebook post from the Gulfport Mayor’s Office.
Smaller towns like Gulfport, Florida, which has around 10,000 residents, often need help as resources flow to larger cities.
“After Hurricane Zeta, Gulfport, Florida, came to our aid—now, let’s return the favor,” said the post.
