The Criminal Investigations Unit has launched an investigation into a rape that occurred on Thursday, May 30.

This investigation has resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant for 47-year-old Cory Lemond Smith of Oxford.

Smith is described as an African American male with brown eyes, short black hair, approximately 6’5” tall, and weighing around 230 pounds.

The Lafayette Oxford/University Crimestoppers organization has offered a reward of $1,000 for any information leading to the arrest of Cory Lemond Smith.
