A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 69-year-old woman in Calhoun County.
The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Dekota Wayne Humphrey.
The incident happened in Calhoun County on County Road 311 on Thursday afternoon around 4:00 p.m.
After the rape, the suspect stole the woman’s truck and fled the scene. He wrecked the stolen truck on County Road 314 and escaped into the woods.
Two Calhoun County deputies and the department’s K9 named Rooster chased the suspect into the woods. K9 Rooster apprehended the suspect and he was taken into custody.
Sheriff Greg Pollan said that K9 Rooster has only been with the department for two weeks. He has been a great addition and already made several arrests.
Dekota Humphrey is being charged with Domestic Violence- Aggravated, Rape- Assault with Intent to Ravish, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of An Accident, DUI, No Drivers License, No Insurance, and Expired Tag,
His bond was set at $500,000.
