The Jones County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man on drug and drug trafficking charges after what they found in his possession.
On September 20, narcotics agents arrested 32-year-old Justin Byrd at a home on Sharon Moss Road.
He was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking of a Controlled Substance.
Investigators said that Byrd was found to be in possession of an indoor mushroom (psilocybin) grow operation and dimethyltryptamine, a schedule 1 narcotic.
Byrd was charged with Possession and Manufacturing of psilocybin and trafficking on dimethyltryptamine.
Byrd also had an enhancement put on his charges as he had a firearm in the home in addition to digital scales and other packaging materials. Byrd’s bond was set at $40,000 in Jones County Justice Court.
